It’ll be okay <3
What are the best ways to cover up scars?
Depending on where the scars are and how deep/visible they are there are so many ways to hide them. Long sleeves, pants, bracelets, makeup, sweatbands, just anything that could hide it. Personally, i have never used make up to cover up scars. I’ve always found bracelets, pants, and long sleeves, the best options. But if you do want to use make up, find a concealer close to your natural skin tone, blend well. If the skin is shiny, use a powder to soften it up. Now this method does not work for all scars! This is for more…smaller, not as visible scars.
What if someone sees my scars? What do I do?
This is a tricky one. If you trust the person well enough/if you want help, straight up tell them. Don’t be afraid and just say it and get it over with. If you don’t want anyone to find out, you can say little things like…I fell and just scratched myself, no biggie! The cat has a strong hatred towards me! I fell while climbing a tree. Fell in the shower, fell outside and a tree attacked me, fell off this bitch called reality and got attacked by a dinosaur. If you want to be sarcastic about it, say absolutely ridiculous things….I had unprotected sex with a porcupine. I’m a professional wrestler, yesterday they played a trick and put Tigers in the cage.
Trust me, they will think you are a little weird, but it does work lol
How do I take care of fresh cuts?
First of all, why did you hurt yourself? If you are my follower, you know damn well I will always be here for you! But, now that you already have, I don’t want you getting it infected. It’s fairly easy to get bleeding to stop, apply pressure. Now depending on where you cut, there are ways to stop it faster. If on wrist or arms, apply pressure while putting your arms above head! If on your legs/thighs/stomach the only way I know is to apply pressure. Once the bleeding has slowed down clean it well with slightly warm water. Then bandage it loosely. Now the next day, it may look like a scab or it may still look fresh. Either way, clean it again. Use some type of ointment, like neosporin! This time depending on how deep, try using butterfly bandages and if not needed or don’t have access to, bandage the area just a little tighter. Repeat this process. If possible twice a day. Just make sure you keep it well cleaned.
If you are unsure if you need medical help, please…just call 911. I beg of you. If you need stitches or staples or anything, go to the hospital, or an urgent care center. Both ways you can go by yourself, but your parents will be informed. This is for in America only, I don’t know about other countries! But if you think you have gone slightly too far, don’t second guess and just call 911!
What are the best creams to help fade scars?
If they are scars from awhile back, I love cocoa butter! You can buy this at like Wal-mart, any pharmacy, drug store. It’s not hard to find, and it’s not expensive. If you have scars from a few weeks to 6 months old, I have found the most amazing cream ever! I am actually in the process of using this cream called Scar Zone. You apply it twice a day for like 6 months or something. I bought it for only $10 at Wal-mart. So I am sure it is just as cheap and any drug store! Some people prefer like Vitamin E oils and such. I don’t like oils. I just hate the feeling. but it’s whatever you like best!
Why do people hurt themselves?
First thing first, if you have never hurt yourself, DON’T START! It isn’t to seek attention, at all. Yes in some cases they just want attention, but even then…..they are just asking for help. I hate when people use that term…If we seek so much attention, why do we hide it so well? Self harm, it’s not something you can control. Once you’ve made the first cut/scratch…your just addicted. It is simply an addiction! First it takes over your mind, then it destroys your body.
How do i ask for help? I want to get better!
Asking for help isn’t an easy thing, but it’s worth it! First you have to admit to yourself that you have a problem, an addiction problem, and you need help. If you can’t accept that, then recovery is going to be 10x harder.
- If you don’t want your parents knowing, try talking with your school counselor! Now, I know some schools don’t have great counselors, and in that case…talk with a teacher that you fully trust. Go tell an adult at your church, prayer group, anything. Tell your friend, maybe they have a solution, or maybe their parents could help you out!
- If you do want your parents to know, try writing a letter. It will be hard, but this whole life is hard. You could sit down with them and tell them. Or have a friend with you and do so.
- I know it gets hard…but once you have accepted that you need help, and are willing to do what it takes…it does get better! Much better!
My friend is hurting them self….what do I do?
This can be a tricky topic….first of all, talk with your friend. Don’t be judgemental, don’t criticize, don’t laugh or make fun of them. Simply be there for them, listen to what they have to say. If you are really worried about them, try talking with an adult you both trust! Preferably, someone they trust, so that they could open up to them if not you. If your friend doesn’t want help, don’t force them! They will come to their sense in their own time. Just be there for them. Listen to them. Give them advise if they want it. Help them.
